7 States in U.S. Now Have Unemployment over 10%

Nevada, California, Rhode Island, North Carolina, Oregon, South Carolina and Michigan in the Feb. 2009 unemployment report from the U.S. Department of Labor all have unemployment rates over 10%.

Nevada with it's 10.1% unemployment rate ranked 45th out of 51 states (including the District of Columbia). Michigan - ranked dead last at 51, the unemployment rate has reached 12%.

In Minnesota - #31 of 51, the unemployment rate mirrors the national rate of 8.1% in February 2009. Last year at the same time Minnesota's unemployment rate was about 50% less at 4.6%.

Alabama ranked 34 of 51 has an unemployment rate of 8.4%.
